Tip: Once you receive it, make sure to print it out and carry it with you to present upon arrival in Vietnam.

My Vietnam e-visa status shows "rejected." What should I do?

If your Vietnam visa application status shows “rejected,” understand and address the reasons for rejection before reapplying. Some of the most common rejection reasons for a Vietnam visa include:

  • Incomplete or inaccurate application: Missing or mismatching information on your visa form can often lead to visa rejection.

  • Invalid passport: Having a passport with a validity of less than six months (at least) from the arrival date in Vietnam.

  • Incorrect photographs: Submitting photos that do not meet the visa photo requirements (e.g., must be clear, unedited, and not older than 6 months) can cause issues.

  • Missing surname: A surname is mandatory when applying for a Vietnam e-visa. Applying without a surname on the government website will result in rejection.

Worried about another visa rejection? Apply with Atlys, and let our experts ensure that nothing stops you from getting a Vietnam visa this time!

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions travellers actually ask. Still curious? Our visa experts answer every question on WhatsApp, email or call.
How long does it take to process a Vietnam e-visa?

The standard Vietnam e-visa processing time is 3 to 5 working days. Around 90% of complete applications are approved within 3 working days, while the rest may take longer due to additional checks or errors. Apply at least 2 weeks before your travel date, and earlier around Vietnamese holidays such as National Day (29 August to 2 September 2026).

What information do I need to check my Vietnam visa status?

You need your visa application number (or registration code), date of birth, and the email address used during your application. The registration code is the primary identifier and is included in your application confirmation email.

Can I check my Vietnam visa status by passport number alone?

No. The Vietnamese e-visa system tracks applications using your registration code together with your date of birth and email, not the passport number alone. Keep your confirmation email handy to find your registration code.

Is the Atlys Vietnam visa status checker free?

Yes. Checking your Vietnam visa status with the Atlys tool is completely free, whether you applied through Atlys or directly on the government website.

Can I track my visa if I applied on the government portal?

Yes. The Atlys Vietnam visa status tracking tool works for every applicant, including those who applied directly on the official Vietnamese government website.

My Vietnam e-visa status is still showing "in process." What can I do?

If your Vietnam e-visa status is still showing "in process," there might be two possible scenarios:

  • Still within the processing window: Depending on your nationality, the Vietnam e-visa processing time can range from 5 to 30 working days. So, it's normal for the status to remain "in process" during this period.

  • Processing delays: If the status remains unchanged even after the processing time is over, check your email's spam or junk folder to see if you have missed any updates. If there are no updates, contact the e-visa support team of the application platform through which you applied.

Why does my Vietnam visa status show "Unknown"?

"Unknown" means the information you entered is invalid or does not match a record. Check your registration code, date of birth, and email for typos. If you applied within the last 24 to 48 hours, your application may not be in the system yet, so wait and try again.

How often should I check my Vietnam visa status?

Once a day is enough. The Vietnamese immigration system updates once or twice per business day, so checking more frequently will not show new information sooner.

Do I need to print my Vietnam e-visa?

Yes. Once approved, print your Vietnam e-visa PDF and carry it with you to present on arrival. The digital copy on your phone is not always accepted at Vietnamese immigration.

What should I do if my Vietnam visa is rejected?

Identify and fix the reason before reapplying, common causes are incomplete or inaccurate details, an invalid passport (under 6 months validity), incorrect photos, or a missing surname. Applying through Atlys means our experts review your application to prevent these errors.

Is my information safe when I use the visa status checker?

Yes. The tool uses advanced technology to ensure data protection and prevent unauthorised access to your information.
